Guarantee trade for used pianos

Maintenance

If we have sold you a piano, please be aware that it is of the highest quality. However, it is a handcrafted instrument with many components sensitive to wear and temperature and humidity fluctuations. Over time and seasons, it is normal for certain parts to require replacement or adjustment, which is not indicative of a manufacturing defect.

Tuning

To maintain your instrument in the condition in which we sold it to you, we recommend having it tuned by a technician at least once a year. Depending on the environment in which it is placed, your piano may require two or more tunings per year.

SALES CONDITIONS

All used acoustic pianos sold by PIANO ELM are covered by a limited guarantee on trade for a period of 6 years from the date of purchase.

In the case of trade pianos with our inventory, the customer pianos' condition should be the same as the day of purchase.

Piano ELM is charging the customer two time Tuning and two-time delivery fee if there is trade during the guarantee period

  •     Our pianos include one free tuning.

  •   we recommend scheduling the first tuning at least two weeks after the initial delivery. Pianos should be checked and tuned at least once a year, or else the Guarantee may be voided.

  • Delivery is included within a 50 km radius of our store (100 km round trip). Additional delivery fees depend on the distance to your home or establishment, as well as any on-site challenges. Additional fees may apply for logistical challenges, such as maneuvering in a stairwell, complex handling, or the rental of a crane. Furthermore, any subsequent moves must be performed by movers recognized by PIANO ELM.

Heat

It is imperative to keep your piano away from any direct heat source (heating, household appliances, fireplace, etc.). Furthermore, it is highly recommended to avoid direct exposure to sunlight, which can greatly affect the condition of the piano's finish, paint, and wood. When the instrument is not used for extended periods, it is advisable to cover it with a suitable cover or, at the very least, to close the action and key covers. If you need to touch the strings or any other bare metal parts of the piano (untreated), it is necessary to wear gloves to prevent contamination or corrosion due to natural hand oils and moisture.

Cleaning

To preserve the appearance of your piano, it is important to protect it from dust and scratches. To clean it, use a soft, non-abrasive, dry cloth. Microfiber cloths are preferred; other types of textiles, even if they feel soft to the touch, such as cotton or paper towels, can still scratch the delicate finish of the instrument. It is also important not to place anything on top of the piano: books, knick-knacks, or especially plants all pose risks to the preservation of the piano's condition.
